Hello John! Just yet another fan of many years of your work, particularly Sgt Benton. Still my most favorite Dr Who character. You probably don't remember, but about 20 years ago you were at a convention in San Jose CA (Red Lion, I think) and my eldest daughter, who was 3 at the time, ran up to you and you picked her up (long dark hair, Scot Renaissance costume). She doesn't remember that but I always will. I wish I had that pic someone took, but never knew who that was. I find it interesting my hubby (Charlie, an Englishman) reminds me so much of your Benton character.

I grew up watching Dr Who.Here in Australia,in the '70s and early -80s,it played in endless weeknight repeats with that other Beeb stablemate,'the Goodies'in the 6pm timeslot on our public broadcaster,the ABC.I always enjoyed your performances as Sgt Benton,as a sort of everyman-a great balance to the unshakeable Doctor.I now have 2 reasons to be a fan-your iconic Who performances and after your interview,as somebody of good chr I'd genuinely like to shake the hand of someday.Pls stay as genuine as you are,and God Bless You,sir.
